The Smokeys Had Me at Hello

Have you ever visited a place that felt more like home than your actual home? Made you feel at peace as soon as you arrived? The Great Smokey Mountains is my place. I was introduced there 7 years ago on my honeymoon and i have felt more at home there than i have here in my actually home. The Cherokees legends claimed that the Smokeys had a mistical healing power like no other because of its blue smoke. There are soo many legends of its greatest that people come from all over to see the true beauty of them. It is the most visited National Park in the Us. When i get on Newfound Gap road its like i have never been there before. Each view is as stunning as the next. they seem to work like a piece of classical musical working its way up to the grand part and back down again. This year was new views because of the fires that happen in December and its sooo heart breaking. It took lives, homes, land, wildlife, and almost a town but i can honestly say that the area is stronger. Fire will do that. Fire will destroy any and all in its path however new and rebirth comes from the ashes. Stronger and better things come and heal that what was lost. I love the mountains and cant wait for each time i go back.
